Pressed paper and alcohol vintage look Sunday inspiration 4-28-19

I was inspired by an old European picture of an old wall with lattice and flowers and vines on it.

The background was created using a pressed paper technique and alcohol to give it an inconsistent, aged and vintage look. I also stenciled a lot on tissue paper which is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do.

This quote is one of my favorites and I share in the video how I have some not so great chapters in my story and the great thing is that we get to edit and rewrite the journey as many times as we need to.

Our stories are always evolving, moving and taking new directions… and we get to choose how the story with go.

Oh and just in case you just love this piece to pieces… you can get the original HERE and the print HERE

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
