day 25

I missed a couple of days 🙁  It was just too hectic to get it done.  The house was full of visitors and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 15.  Now the guests are gone and the house is cleaned up and quiet so that I can have a thought to myself.  I’m soo grateful for all that I have… for my family and friends, for my better half and love.  I’m thankful for a home that is filled with laughter and love.  Some times it’s hard with the pressure of the Holiday season to be mindful of how good my life is… but it really is! It’s hard not to get caught up in all the things that need to be done, gifts to buy, parties to attend, and decorations to put up, and not feel overwhelmed but joyful and thankful.  I hope that I can be an encouragement this season to those around me and that someone will see a truly deep gratitude for life and all the blessings that I have.  I want to slow down and enjoy special moments with those closest to me.  Dear soul… please stop and smell the roses… and give to others.  Big Smile = Shawn

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
