November has come to a close and I have done my best to blog everyday… I wasn’t successful, but I think I did a pretty darn good job.  The month flew by and it had alot of challenges but…. I made it through.  I have established a longing for the pages of my blog…and I don’t feel terrified any longer when I’m staring at a blank page.  I’m truly excited about the days ahead.  I have lots of things planned for the blog and for my art and I hope that I can get them accomplished in the next few months.  This month has helped me look for experiences or moments within a day to write about, it made me be in the present, it made me recognize the beauty of just one day!  I have a choice everyday to challenge myself to be better or to do something that’s out of my comfort zone and it’s in those places that I grow and gain confidence.  Dear self, just remember that when I rise above a negative thought or self doubt, and share it with those around me….. I give others an opportunity to do the same.  Big Smile…. Shawn

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
