Sometimes at our weakest points, our most vulnerable times… when our hearts are sooo sooo broken… that is when healing and wholeness can happen. I know for me that often when I thought the situation that I was in was unbearable…and i felt completely covered like a blanket in hurt… i chose to try and see the good even the smallest ray of sunshine.. .. and slowly my heart mended. Time is the healer…and each day trying to be thankful for something….then one day I looked around at how beautiful my life had become because of this one broken place…. this piece represents just that…. in my darkest moments produces some of the biggest blessings… the most self discovery, and a chance to grow….

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
