I’m enjoying the August break from Susannah Conway and the Joy Up Series by Hannah Marcotti. I’m painting like crazy trying to get ready for the busy season.

As, I have been participating in the Joy Up Series and sharing in the lives of women all over the world, I’m finding that we all have a few things in common:

1. We need, crave, want, desire, connection. Not just casual contact but a close deep friendship.

2. We’re searching for significance in our lives.

3. We struggle to balance life, children, work, and relationships.

These reasons are why I create the type of art that I do. I want to be able to walk with women and men who are striving to grow and who need someone to walk with them. I want to give more at a deeper level. I have some ideas about this and I am praying that I have clear direction on some new projects. So If you think about it say a prayer, or send good vibes out… anything so that I can get the clarity for this new project that I believe will reach out to many.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
