Way too often in my life I have let fear rule. It spoke louder than my heart, than my brain, than my passion. Fear told me that I was too old, too fat, to shy, not talented, not creative. Fear told me that I could never make it, have it, do it. Fear told me that I wasn’t worth it, wasn’t worthy of love, and not to let my heart trust. Fear told me way too many things, for way too long! Am I absent of fear? Nooo, no, no, not even close. I don’t think that it’s possible for us humans to be free from fear, well at least THIS human, however, we can learn how to step through the fear. We can know ourselves and our internal voices so well that when fear starts to talk we can know that it’s just that, talk and not reality. We can notice the fear and step around it into action. Let fear be your companion, not your dictator. Go for it today. Step around your fear, whatever it is, and LIVE, live your passion!
P.s. …. Some super scary things that I had to walk through fear to do in the last 4 yrs.
Realizing I needed to get out of an unhealthy relationship. (not knowing how I would pay the bills)
Putting my art out into the world in small ways, like fund raisers and commission pieces.
Opening my heart to trust and love again. (very cautiously)…. We just celebrated our first anniversary!
Quitting my job, to pursue my art career. I took a partime job in a home decor and design store only to get fired.
Decided to do art full time.
Couldn’t pay the bills, so I took a pt job I hated, only for it to turn into a job that I love.
Submitted my work for a couple of magazines, got published a couple of times.
Got a business coach, got rid of a business coach and decided to trust my gut. Sales flourished and more were (are) encouraged by my work.
PSS…. every day is an adventure and every day fear is by my side, but I’m learning to know its voice and know that my voice is stronger!
