Hi my friend,

I have a full heart today! A couple of days ago I shared that I needed to be brave in the face of my pre show jitters, and I got emails from so many of you. Some of the kindest words I’ve ever read! I got a little teary.

I got all set up and the show began, and as always I met some of the most beautiful souls. I met a lot of you too! I am so, so thankful, that I got to give hugs and shake hands with so many. Thank you for taking the time to come by it means the world to me.

There were tears, new ideas, opportunities and laughs the whole day!

Our stories are varied, but the more I listen to everyone’s life, we are all more alike than we are different. Sure, there are gender differences, ethnicity differences, financial differences, single, married, divorced. But we each are searching for belonging and connectedness. When I got your emails and shared in your journey and you share in mine, we become part of each others stories. We are meant to live in fellowship, to have a tribe. So that we can give and get from the collective. We need each other, to encourage and lift up. To celebrate with and to share the burdens. YOu are part of my tribe, part of this community and I AM SO GRATEFUL! Thank you for your love, kind words and support. 🙂

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
