The Journey can be beautiful. If we let it.

The journey is there for us to learn from to grow.

Grow stronger, wiser and more compassionate.

The Journey is painful and full of change.

The journey thinks it can break us… then we rise, and rise again.

The Journey can set us free,….. surround us in immeasurable joy.

The journey can bring fear and untrusting souls. … and then we gain courage and trust again.

The journey can be dark…. and then the sun shines and heals our hearts.journey

Life is a journey… One of change, joy, sorrow, wonder and incredible pain.  And we are meant to share those moments with ones who will encourage us along the path.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

    Oh my goodness Shawn – the “choose joy” plaque Lyska gave me for Christmas is perfect! It was like it was made just for me – choose joy is my personal mantra and I even have it tattoed on my arm. We just adore you and your amazing art! Merry Christmas – look forward to seeing you next year!
