New beginnings dragonfly

(This piece above is the pieces I will be teaching start to finish at Craft Fusion Jan 17th)

As the year comes to an end, I begin to focus on the New Year and planning for the business and life. Setting goals, marketing plans, personal goals and things to make my relationships better. I write and write and write till there is nothing left. Then I organize and put a plan together.  I love this process…. it revitalizes me, new energy, and new experiences!  As important as this process is to me for growth….. there is something that I almost always forget to do at this time of year….. and that is to look back and be grateful.

Grateful for what I received from 2014….. For me it’s part of accepting the good and the not so good, owning it and living in a peaceful place.  It prepares for me for the New Year.

I hope you look back on this last year and embrace all the moments, the blunders, the scary, the heartache, the laughter, the rejections and the acceptance, the love, the soul searching, the goals attained, the stretching yourself, the muddled feeling and the sheer delight, the hugs, the uncertainty, the power, the weakness, the fights and the make up, the doubt and the confidence, the faith and the unbelief.

Embrace it all! Every stinkin good and bad, and make peace with it, with yourself, so that you can be ready for another Brilliant and Blundersome (I just made that word up) New Year!

You are amazing, You are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
