On Thursdays I have been offering selected originals at a discounted price. My pieces have found their forever home. It’s weird how attached I am to them. They are like little bits of me.

One last thing…. I want to share some thoughts and pics about a recent trip I took.

So for Christmas I gave the hubster a weekend away. With our schedules, a weekend away is like GOLD! So in his box of weekend goodies I had printed brochures of a B&B down by a creek so that he could go fishing because I know how much he loves to fish and I was secretly loving that it had a soaker tub and a fireplace! I told him he could choose where we went, …this weekend was for him! Wellllll, My honey decided that he wanted to camp… :(… now for alot of you, camping is fun, but I’m a bit of a city girl.. and camping is not one of my favorite activities…not to mention I’m a wimp when it comes to the cold… a hello, I live in Phoenix! But I said ok… because I wanted this to be something that HE would enjoy. I just made him promise to keep me warm. He was preparing the camping equipment and bought a new heater and portable poop bucket! Oh Lord! I didn’t share his giddiness over a poop bucket. The trip gets underway, the weather wasn’t bad and the view…. beautiful

I set up my space…. got out some art supplies and made myself at home…. the hubby was fishing …. and I was busy relaxing…this wasn’t too bad!

My friend, I put a smile on my face…. chose to be present… and enjoy what might come from camping. … It was not a bed and breakfast with a soaker tub and fire place…. but it was beautiful…. peaceful…. we had time to talk…. and the smile on my mans face when fishing is worth every every minute!

My hope for you today is that in the midst of what you may not choose…. that you breathe and be present…. to be open for what this moment or experience will teach. And that we ALL choose to be thankful for the little things.

Happy Sunday

You are loved

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
