Sunday Inspiration “Listen”

Listen

Maya Angelou says it so well….. no one can do it alone…. can you hear it… the storms are coming…. Oh and they will come…..

I know that I need to work on asking…. asking for help…. asking for care…. the storms come and I think that it is strong and courageous to do it alone… but it’s quite the opposite. We need each other…. I need my tribe, my circle to buffer the waves… to talk sense to me…. to tell me it will be ok.. We need to listen….. listen for sometimes what’s not being said as well as what is. I need to listen, to slow down and here my life, my heart, listen to your story, to my tribes story. Oh… we need to listen to each other!

Too often…. we’re all walking around…. feeling unheard, unloved, unwanted….

That’s when I remind myself to go to my tribe, my safe circle and say the truth… and always…. always…. always…. I am uplifted and loved. I am strengthened, to weather the storms of life.

My hope is that you have a tribe or are working on creating one…. and if you don’t have a tribe…. I will be your tribe of one, until you find those safe around you. I will listen…. listen to your heart…. but you have to ask..

I just want you to know that you are heard, you are wanted and you are loved!

It’s tough out there and no one can do it alone…. You have ME!

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
