Play day print making
Posted Mar 13, 2015

Did a little print making this week…. but not in the usual way…. I’m always trying a different approach to regular painting techniques. So I took some pics of the process.

Below is  my 12×12 quilting square that i put paint on with the brayer and then created some pattern in the paint with random items. and then laid my sheets of paper on top

Next i tried clay….. this was fun!  I used model magic and stamped in some pattern. painted. I sprayed the clay with watter to wipe of the paint and then rekneeded it for new patterns. I store this is a zip lock bag.

This is a foam craft sheet. I put drops of paint on and brayer it out.

Next i used wax paper…. this is by far my favorite.

here is a print I pulled using wax paper. I used it for the base of the next piece.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
