The perfect teacher/coworker gift – Deco Days
Posted Aug 12, 2015

This is a quick easy project that you can make to say thank you to teachers, coworkers, friends or family.

Supplies used:

book pages, rags, scissors, 6×6 mdf board, I have those available in my SHOP as well as collage elements for your background.

The crackle only took about 30 minutes to dry but that could vary…. I live in the desert so it might take longer for cooler or more humid areas. The antiquing cream needs to be sealed with a varnish or spray otherwise it stays active.

Have fun creating.

You are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

Love your art! And thank you for the tutorial! May I ask if the name brand of uppercase and lowercase letters are the same and if not, would you mind listing the name brand?
And wouldn’t the sizes be tricky depending on the size canvas or board used?

    • Shawn

Suzanne, The brand is the same… and yes you would have to adjust according to what size you are working on….. happy creating and thanks for watching!
