GRACE….

1.mercy, forgiveness and charity….. 2. To show favor, calmness, thoughtfulness, to pardon

I try to give grace everyday to those around me….. I try to keep in mind that everyone has something going on. But I am human and I say harsh things and my words hurt. My heart gets impatient and my A type personality can get the best of me…. but I know that if we can give ourselves grace and others…. relationships, work environments, creative time would be soooo different.

I am so grateful for the one who pardons my messiness, my humanness, my impatient nature. You are given grace too! Surround yourself in grace and give it freely!

You are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I do seal my pieces. I usually will give it a good coat of Krylon Fixatif because most likely I have used charcoal or pastel. Then I give it a coat of matte medium. You could use gloss medium if you want a glossy finish. They are by liquitex. So glad I can inspire your creativeness! so glad you are here!

You hit my heart when you said – you would want grace for someone too (in your video)…. Yes – I pray for Grace for my son daily. I pray that people give grace to him when they see him or when they pass us i the mall. I hope that people aren’t cruel to him when I pass. It is a heavy brick on my chest every single night as I try to sleep. It is hard to watch someone you love suffer day in and day out – and then to see some people when we both are strong enough to take a stroll out in public – perhaps a mall visit (those are rare)- who must watch your video …. it is when I have enough of strength to take him out when I am greeted with the cruelest people. I think I will share this video!!!! Thank you… By the way – that gorgeous baby warmed my heart when I saw her pic with you and her little pocketbook!!!! What a sweetie pie!!!!!!!!!!! Much love to you!

My friend, It is a harsh reality that the world can be so cruel. I just want to give you and your son a hug! Have strength, I don’t know your circumstances, but I do know what it is like to have a child struggle probably not the same way as you but as a mama it is the hardest thing. It is beyond hard and made me sick. I did alot of praying, My hope and prayer is that the weight can be lifted a little and that you can see some grace and love from those around you. Always know that you are loved in this part of the world. Hope and blessings to you and your son! big hugs!
