I am in love with this piece. Maybe it’s because it is so Me. Perfectly imperfect. All the rough edges…. It just represents life.

the-last-thought

Oh, how amazing you are…. perfectly imperfect!  I love that we all have our stories, quirks and craziness. It makes life interesting. Learning to just be…. to just be yourself is a life long practice. Some days are good and some days are not so good, but it’s about the journey and what we are learning about ourselves along the way. If you could see yourself through the eyes of others, you would be amazed at how fabulous you really are.

Today, I want you to tell yourself that you are amazing! That you are beautiful. That you are worthy of great things. That you are strong. That you are smart. That you are creative. Tell yourself the wonderful truth and stop trying to be perfect and just be you!

Be inspired, create…. love yourself just the way you are, and know that you are loved.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

Beautiful!! I love the message that you convey after your piece of art is finished. I have a question. What exactly is Mdf and where do you buy it? Do you have it cut into various sizes at a lumber yard or what? Absolutely love all of your artwork!!!❤️

      Thnak you Kim,
Mdf board is a compressed wood that males is strong and non warping. I buy it and cut it myself to the size needed and router a keyhole in the back for hanging.
