I recently ordered some fun things from Donna Downey. If you have not checked out her online shop, she has just about anything you need for creating all kinds of art.

I purchased the new mini gelli plate shapes, some rubbing plates, a flower stencil from stencil girl, a package of ephemera, and a few new stencils from Donna.

I play with the mini gelli plates and are working on a project with those, I included them with a few of my newest hand made stamps

I painted the minis plates and then went back over with a stencil, to get the pattern and then printed… I can see that there will be alot of options.

I love how the stencil looks…. I sprayed it and then turned it over to print with it….

I LOVE rubbing plates…. there are soo many options with them, there are 6 in the pack and I used it with sprays, gelatos, pencils, regular paint and paint brush. and I’m sure that they will be perfect for the gelli plate. You could also use them with clay.

Then use the papers for collage or print directly onto your project.

Play time is crucial to my creative process. One small thing can inspire a new piece.

Take some time to play today.

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

Sorry I hit the wrong button. I just wanted to say thank you and Gods blessings with your move. Remember if he closes a door there is a window and it will be good. I don’t know how long you have been in Arizona but I am sure it is hard to say goodbye to your connections there. I pray for ease in the passage and comfort during the changes.
I love your Sunday Inspirations. I live in Kentucky so who knows we may cross paths at a show at some point.

        Paula,
Thank you so much! I know that all will be well… it’s just the in between spaces that makes me a little weary. Thank you again for such kind words and I am so glad that you are part of my journey! Hugs and love!
