I thought I would sneek in a play day before Christmas, since it falls on the regular play day.

This is something that you can make in just a few minutes for a last minute decoration or gift.

Have fun creating and have a beautiful Christmas…. breathe, relax and just enjoy the time.

Above I painted my page with white acrylic paint… I used a thick coat and then stamped into the paint and let dry.

Then I rubbed some turquoise acrylic on with a rag and got it into the grooves .

cut strips of my gelli plate prints and cut a star and the stump from book pages and put those down with matte medium.

I rubbed burnt umber over the entire piece and let dry

I used a charcoal pencil, white paint marker, and letter stamps and stamp pad to complete  the project.

May you experience love, peace and joy…. during this time. Create it…. believe it…. make it what you want.

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
