I took a trip to Phoenix this last week. I needed to go back home or so I thought. I felt unsettled when I got there, I felt that this wasn’t home anymore. I felt like no place felt like home. Ohio, phoenix neither were familiar. And then I had a moment when everything came together and there was peace within. It didn’t happen until I was on my way back to Ohio. Putting this piece together was truly putting the pieces together in my own journey. I share more about it at the end of the video.

The wee bird in the nest truly hits “home” for me. I haven’t been anywhere else really. I did live in Edmonton for a few years back in my early 20’s but the west coast was always tugging hard at my heart strings. I missed the ocean the most! I missed my folks (they were both alive at that time), and wanted to be with my family and friends again. There is always a space, a space that isn’t filled until you are “home”.
This piece of artwork is very special Shawn and I do love it.
