Sunay-Inspiration-header

I set out this last week to document what I am grateful for, In this little town in Ohio. In the process I had a moment of clarity and a profound shift in my heart. I began to see with new eyes the beauty all around me. I often have to take the first steps, to take action, to make the gratitude list … and then the heart will follow… The heart will always follow if I allow it. If I don’t have my heels dug in… The change happens when I am tender and open. Do you need to find the beauty around you…. it’s there I promise…just be open.

Pictures of my town through new eyes,,, as I drove around, it felt magical almost… and I knew that searching with a heart of gratitude would most certainly make a difference. In a moment when I desperately needed to find a connection with this place that I’m living in and to finally be able to call it home, my heart broke and I began to see the beauty…

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

You always touch on such relevant and heart rending feelings/subjects Shaun and it’s a treat to watch your gorgeous videos every Sunday. Your surroundings look beautiful to me – it’s so easy to see the bad around us but takes just a small shift in attitude to also see the good. Thank you for sharing so much of your creative and life journey every week xxx

Love this!….and so love the thoughts behind the title!! I’m in a “little home” right now, on my son’s yard. (Visiting for awhile.) So thankful for the private space…and yet I was missing home. But…”this is home right now! Enjoy the grandchildren knocking on the door…coming over to draw with me. Enjoy loved one’s I don’t see very often…enjoy each day, each moment…enjoy!!”…is what this says to me. Thank you.once again…for reminding me of the good things in Life. (And…I’m so glad you found “home”!)
