Crash the stash is about… using what you have. I have so much stuff. Drawers and drawers of papers and odds and ends.  It’s also about getting creative and taking some risks. Letting you watch my successes and failures and how I work through them.

I hope you will join me each Thursday and take this adventure with me. I would love to see what you create!

Be Inspired, Create and Know that you are loved.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love this idea, and have been looking forward to participating. I have a couple of questions for you – are you using papers from your stash that are lighter weight (like those found in books) or are you also including heavier papers (for example, sturdy cardstock or scrapbook papers)? And secondly, this is way off topic, but how do you keep the media you use from ruining your fingernails? A girl needs to know these things!

I will be using everything…. I have scrapbook paper and then some lighter weight book pages and copy paper. I get my nails done about every 3 weeks and get gel nails. Because they are gel the paint scrapes right off. I get a kitchen scrubby and go to town, then they look good as new… just don’t look on the under side. My nail lady everytime I go in just looks at me in disgust… lol…

This is probably a silly question but do you sell the sponges that you use? I have looked and looked for sponges like yours but end up buying other ones that just soak up the paint?

    Hi,
Happy New Year! I was wondering as I go through my stash to start figuring out what to do first with my stash, if you’ve been able to find out about the preprinted collage paks being for sale. I truly LOVE your collage packs. But, as I told a few weeks ago at this time I don’t have a printer or access to one. I would likely purchase several to make it worth your while. Please let me know. I look forward to tomorrow’s video!
Take care. You are a very gifted artist!!
