This journal page grew on me, I wasn’t sure about this but I did find some new loves!

This page actually grew on me. I wasn’t sure and then once I got some of the Marabu crayons on I was starting to like it.

It’s still really busy and doesn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy, but the lessons I learned and the experimenting I got to do will be used again!

I love the black modeling paste and want to play some more with it. I also will be heading to the store to get some more Marabu crayons they are wonderful to use and oh so creamy. They worked well on all that texture. Cant wait to try them in a few more applications.

The texture that the modeling paste left, as well as the gesso DOES make me happy and I love how I can see the papers through the stencil design.

Always be willing to step out of your comfort zone… it’s all trial and error and some amazing discoveries!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
