An important announcement, practicing what I preach and working through a piece

I struggled with this piece, I had an idea of how I wanted it to look and I couldn’t quite get it to what I had in my mind. There are so many things I like about it and will have to sit on it a while to see if I need to change anything. Creating sometimes works like that.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday Inspiration video and stay to the end, I share my gratitude and talk about taking some rest.

The first Creative team post will be happening Sept. 6th, I will have videos that I have not shown on my you tube channel before and I will be over in the creative souls cafe facebook page creating live.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

OMG I can probably read the shorthand pages if I could get close enough. I used to sit with my paper pad and pen in hand and take shorthand from my boss like a good little secretary. BTW, love the butterflies!
