Update on resting……  It’s Hard! It’s taken me about a week to wind down…. I can’t quite find my groove… but I’m forcing myself to rest! Well, I’m forcing myself to do other things than I usually do, how’s that ….. for rest. I’ve wandered around the house and started a few books….

Should relaxing be this hard? I keep asking myself that, do I find comfort in the business? OOh lots of self talk this week, which is probably why rest is so hard, because there is nothing to quiet the soul, the questions, the searching and yearning. The restlessness comes from my heart trying to tell me something and I’m not listening.

More on this next week!

Took a quick trip with the hubster.

Gaining inspiration from nature.. it really does quiet the soul.

coming up……… Our first creative team post next week. Wed. September 6th. YOu don’t want to miss it.

Also, in the Creative Souls Cafe, I finished this paint the quote challenge:

The quote: “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have with in you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman

I have added the last video in the series on Liquitex markers in the Subscriber resource library.  If you haven’t subscribed you can do that HERE and get your password immediately

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
