My soul is heavy… I need to focus on the good and flying higher than all the yucky stuff happening. To send up prayers to the heavens for all that is going on today.

This piece has layers of grungy texture and has a lot of symbolism, from the grungy layers, to the bright colors being covered to the string of lights (my prayers).  Our art can truly tell the story of our lives.

Supplies Used: Canson mixed media journal, Scrap paper from the stash, my used palette paper, a bird from a magazine, Matte medium, matte gel, crackle paste, course pumice gel, Daler-Rowney acrylic ink (sepia), Fluid acrylic paint, white gel pen, embellishments from Tim Holtz, charcoal pencil and black pastel stick.
