Flower Collage Portrait
Nicole Austin
I love drawing mixed media faces over collage backgrounds in my art journal. I love the way the collage can add to the texture in the background and also peek through the layers in the face.
I almost always finish with a layer of collage images over the top to blend the face into the background. It also helps to paint over some of the collage pieces so that they blend in better with the background and face.
The oil paintstiks are an easy way to add color and a transparent layer. They are easy to blend and also seal in any layers underneath.
