Create a beautiful life

I have been wanting to do this for a long time and I positively love it.

I know that this piece might not appeal to everyone, but it is what makes me happy and that’s what creating is all about.

That’s why I titled it create a beautiful life, because that’s life too. Our lives might look silly or stupid to someone else, or dreams might get scoffed at or snickered at but they’re our dreams (your dreams) and however funny to someone one else, it’s our own beautiful journey.

So create your life how you want, with what make you happy and don’t let anyone tell you how it should look.

Supplies Used:

18×24 canvas, heavy duty card board, scraps and pieces from collage paks, acrylic paints (craft, fluid), mini paint roller, metal elements, charcoal pencil, marks all pencil

Stencils used: scribbles, borders, pattern 1, pattern 2, feathers, stacked stone, doodle numbers, doodle leaves, doodle lines, doodle triangles

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
