I am really into creating girls in my art journal right time right now and on this particular day I was not feeling too happy. A lot of life stuff was hitting pretty hard and my emotions were so low that I decided I had to get it out and so this is the result.
Art is always therapy to me. And by the end of this I had made the decision that I could smile and everything would be just fine. All I have to do is trust.
I used a new medium from Golden called coarse molding paste which I applied using the flower stencils from Shawn and I love the way it came out.
I hope you enjoy the video

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love her smile ! This is a great video showing how to paint her face. I’m just starting to get comfortable with drawing a face and that’s my next new project, to actually paint it. I’ll be saving this video and watching over and over. Thank you so much for sharing. Can you recommend a book that shows step by step painting faces ?
