Fresco look…

I had this picture from a magazine page for so many years and it has always stirred my soul.

I knew it was right for today’s crash the stash, because of what I was feeling and needing to say on the page.

I wanted that old fresco look on this, just the feeling of time passing and calmness. Wanting to show age and the mystery of what was…

 Working carefully to keep everything soft and grungy all at the same time.

Supplies Used: Canson 9 x 12 mixed media journal, picture from a magazine, matte gel medium, gesso, modeling paste, palette knife, acrylic paint (neutral grey, raw sienna, titanium white, carbon black) charcoal pencil, soft black pastel stick, printed words

Stencils used: flourish and old type text
