Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all

This was a quick and easy painting on mixed media paper and I think it expresses the quote perfectly. I love the texture you get with gesso as your under layer!

The message is simple, our daring adventure is different for everyone. Whatever your adventure is, climbing a mountain, creating art, starting a business… whatever it is. Do it! Take the risk, you can do it!

I hope you enjoy the video

Supplies Used:

9×12 140lb mixed media paper, Fluid acrylic paint, Americana glazing medium, scraps of paper, Matte medium, charcoal pencil, black pastel stick

Stencils used: Trees 2, Trees 3, old type text, vintage postage, mini doodle mask

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love this one ! Gave me ideas with tearing paper and making it into a shape. My next order has to be your postage stamps and alpha set. Thank you again 🙂
