In today’s piece, I share my struggles with getting interest in the background and wanting to create some contrast. I stuck with it and I love the end result! I don’t know about you but, butterflies just make me happy!

Also, the middle background paper is free in the resource library along with a coupon for $2.00 off the gorgeous new bright butterfly collage pak.

I share how a hurtful comment caught me off guard this last week and what responding in kindness can do. It really can change everything.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

    Hi Shawn,
Thank you so much for what you do. You always touch my heart with both your art and words. I’m sorry for not letting you know that more often!

Could you share how you print onto tissue paper? I tape a tissue sheet to a piece of copy paper and get a good print every third try or so. It could be my printer, but I wanted to ask, because whenever you use tissue, it’s perfect. 😉

    Thanks!
    Debbie
