One Little Word?

Be

I decided it was time to pick my One Little Word for 2019. Last year’s word was ‘trust’ & it served me well so many times. So, as I set out thinking about what I wanted to focus on for 2019, I kept coming back to some repeating phrases.

For all intents and purposes, one could say my word is ‘be’. However, these phrases in this piece are the deeper reason, the true meaning behind my ‘be’ this year.

Be purposeful, be mindful, be present, be thoughtful.

So I created an art journal page for my intention. This page will serve as my reminder to have purpose and intent for each moment. Being thoughtful about why I am doing things. To be mindful of how my time and energy is spent.

What’s your one little word? Or maybe like me, your many little words?

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
