Today’s project is all about color and fun and experimenting! I sat down with no real plan other than using my stencils in reverse, basically putting my paint down and then removing & wiping with a baby wipe. So I just started playing to create a background. Once I got my background, I knew I wanted some contrasting bright colors. I went to my stash and found something totally unlikely to use. Check out the video to see what!

Hope you enjoy the process & thanks for watching!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love this video ! It reminded me I don’t use baby wipes enough and I love the look ! I also forgot about my paint sample sheets and what a great idea to use with stamps ! I’m going to save this video for when I stare at a white journal page and have no idea what to make. Thank you for the inspiration and reminding me of some different ways to use my stash !
