No acrylic paint and lots of stuff from the stash – Crash the stash 4-18-19

I used a lot of stuff from the stash… I just pulled out tons of things that I haven’t used in a looong time! But one thing I didn’t use was regular acrylic paint. Crazy I know but the beautiful color came from Ranger oxide re-inkers, acrylic inks, and even some embossing powder. The texture on this is unbelievable and just so grungy good!

Enjoy the video

Supplies used: hand made journal, paper and goodies from the stash, from the stash, Liquitex gesso, Liquitex matte medium, finnabair texture crackle paste silver and platinum, Liquitex acrylic ink and F&w acrylic ink, distress oxide re-inkers, ranger embossing powder in rust, archival ink pad, makeup brush

Stencils used: old type text, round abouts 1 and scribble marks

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
