Honoring your creative time Crash the stash 6-13-19

Some days all we have are just a few minutes to create.

That’s how this week had been for me… Just super busy but I looked at the clock and said I have 30 minutes… and I want to honor my creative soul and just create with no expectation

It’s amazing what you can do when you let go of the outcome. When you’re free and just playing.

It also helped that I used a rather blah gelli print from my stash as the first layer. And of course stencils are always a great way to get quick interest and focal points.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to honor you own creative soul! Even if it’s just for a few minutes!

Supplies used: hand made journal, Deco art media matte medium, deco art fluid acrylic (teal, quin magenta, green gold, dioxazine purple) Americana titanium white, charcoal pencil (ex. soft), archival ink and makeup brush, stabilo woody pencil.

Stencils used: scribble marks, pattern 6, and Find your true north

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
