This was literally a 10 minute journal page. That’s why I love using my nothing journal. It has my cast off paint and all kinds of goodness in it just waiting for me to create on.

I have a full workshop that shows you step by step how I create my journal, the collage papers that I used and composition for this style of journaling, plus how to get creative inspiration and create quickly. Just like I did with this journal page.

The workshop is “Abstract Journey” and you can check it out HERE

Stencils used in this journal page are – Butterflies and Scribble marks 1

Supplies: journal, gesso, palette knife, acrylic paint, charcoal pencil, soft pastel in black, collage paper, stamp pad, make up brush. fine line applicator.

Just a reminder that crash the stash is a simple video to inspire you. It has no instructions or voice over. Just sit back relax and get lots of ideas for your next journal page.

Enjoy the video

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

Is that black ink in the fine line applicator? What kind of ink?

It’s not ink, its black acrylic paint and airbrush medium. Thanks for watching
