Texture with gesso and Lukas acrylic paints Sunday inspiration 7-21-19

This piece gave me a run for my money… I had all kinds of mishaps… but I persevered and love how it turned out.

I started with a clear meaning and message for this piece and I love how I created texture with just gesso. I played with high flow acrylics and acrylic inks, but the most fun was playing with my new Lukas paints.

I made this with my mama heart… and I share about the seasons in our life, good or bad, how they can teach us something new.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love the way this turned out. All the layers and texture look amazing. When your paint bottle failed and all that paint ended up on this piece, my brain was yelling noooo! However, being the wonderful artist that you are you were able to make it look great. Thank you for a wonderful video. I hope things get better for your son.
