I chose a lot of vintage and fun papers from the stash and my goal was to try to not cover the papers too much and I think I accomplish that!

I printed my quote on a vintage ledger paper and I show you how in the video.

I also chose two products from the stash that I haven’t used in a VERY long time. Gold metallic embossing paste by Wendy Vecchi and Copper mica powder by Prima. I also added some yummy crackles.

The only other color on this page was introduced with the flowers. Everything else is paper.

Enjoy the video

Supplies used: Liquitex fluid matte medium, papers from the stash, Lukas acrylic paint, (beige, yellow ochre, alizarin crimson hue) Wendy Vecchi gold metallic embossing paste, Copper mica powder by Prima, crackle paint by Decoart media, Spectrafix to fix the powder, charcoal pencil and soft pastel,

Stencils used: Cracked and Bouquet of flowers 1

Be inspired, create and know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
