I love how this piece turned out, but it was a struggle to get to the finish.
For some reason the paint was resisting… and I got frustrated, but I share in the video what I do when things don’t go as planned.
I also bring out the soft pastels to get all the details and highlights.
The quote in this piece was perfect… I already had this planned and then when things didn’t go right it all went together. I share all about it in the video.
Don’t forget the maps collage pak that I used and the two stencils will be on sale this week!

Thank you, Jennifer! and thanks for sharing the journey with me!
I LOVE this! That wall/door stencil is coming to my house today. Your message resonates again this week as I have been looking inward and trying to own my mistakes in the past and move forward. This past week I played with gelli plate prints and the first two or three were blah but then I made a few that were wonderful and I found myself using your word, “yummy”. Thank you for your Sunday inspiration!
Yummy is such a good word! So glad you are here and sharing the journey with me. It’s always practice to own our story, the good the bad the ugly. But you are worthy! and loved!
I love old doors so I really like how you created this door. Also, what a good quote.
Thanks so much Susie! So glad you are here!
Shawn, I love all your work and the inspirational words that go along with them. My personal favorites are the pieces that have doors and windows. I just purchased one of your workshops. It is the tissue paper one. I love to watch all your videos and have learned a lot by watching them and I plan to learn a lot more from some of your workshops that I’m interested in. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Lisa.. thanks so much.. so glad you are loving the workshop. thanks for sharing the journey!
