” Letting Go” Crash the Stash mixed media by CT Member Cara-Renee Wolf

This spread was so fun to do! There are points that it was truly a hot mess. The Lindy’s sprays can tend toward a muted color on the surface, but I recovered it by bringing in the vibrant Golden Fluid Acrylics in Nickle Azo Gold, Cobalt Turquoise & Permanent Violet Dark. In my mixed media process, I have learned to let go of my expectations and truly play- which is a gift to me. I hope that you play. I hope that you get your hands dirty

The message of this piece is inspired by my journey with my Mother-in-Law who is in the late stages of dementia. She is precious and I am blessed to be able to be with her as she lives out the end of her journey. There is a lot of letting go! Isn’t life like that though? We love, we long, we work, we hope & we fight but often we are called to the higher action of letting go. I hope you enjoyed the video

Enjoy the Video!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
