This time I want to inspire you to create some greeting cards.
We all have to deal with this bad virus which is going around the world. There are many restrictions in our daily life, especially our social life. Meeting friends and family is not possible at the moment, and, although it is necessary to stay healthy and save, it is not easy! So I thought it would be a nice way to send some love and joy using a handmade greeting card!
I want to show you a quick and easy way to create some cards using the same background and even the same embellishing so that you can make a whole series of cards without thinking too hard about the design, but nevertheless each will turn out differently and unique.
I used only one stencil from Shawn Petite’s gorgeous selection. It is one of the latest launched, the Modern Pattern Mini 1. I love the minis, with them you have even 4 different designs on one stencil – they are so versatile and the design is gorgeous!
For the focal points I used pieces from two of Shawn’s Collage paks, in this case a butterfly and a vintage metal flower image. But of course you can use anything else like flowers or birds. You will find amazing images in the Collage paks in the shop!
So enjoy the video and feel inspired to create some cards yourself! Stay safe everyone.

Enjoy the Video!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
