I started this piece on a 12 x 20 wood panel and wasn’t sure about anything except I wanted to try a larger sized stencil that we are now making available in the shop.
But I wasn’t sure what I wanted or needed and I had this song rolling around in my head for a week. Well, actually it was an old, old, really old hymn that I found myself humming and singing out loud when I was alone. I kept thinking where in the heck did this song come from? Why now?
I hadn’t heard or sang the song in probably 15 yrs…. so weird. But I began to really focus on the words. I sat and wrote them out and asked myself what do I need to hear, what do I need to learn from this song that won’t let go of my brain.
So I decided I had to get it out… paint is out and maybe that would help.
So when I put the brush in my hand it all started to unfold inside of me. Every new layer was part of the words from the hymn.
I titled the piece… “Peace and Praise” and I’ll share more about it in the video
The song – ” Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light”

My newest workshop “Journal Journey” came out. There’s still time to get in on the early bird pricing!
I had originally planned to release this workshop later in the year but felt that with everything that’s going on in our nation, that maybe now was the time.
Journaling has always been a special time for me and now more than ever I need to find solace in those sacred pages. And maybe you do too.
Our journals are the place that we can let it all go, feel the things we’re feeling, say the words and just spill.
It’s a walkthrough 4 journal pages start to finish.
Learning to….
-break the blank page
-how color can represent feelings
-how letting go of perfection and embracing the messy page can lead us to the next layer
-how pattern can actually simplify
and so much more!
