Oh the grungy goodness!!

I loaded this with lots of gesso and crackle paint and then washed it with raw umber and gray.

Created butterflies with sepia ink and put it all together with some wonderful vintage papers.

I don’t think it gets better than this!

I also share about what could be holding us back from joy… right now, in this time.

Who could use more joy? I know I can…. Enjoy the video

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

You are so creative. I enjoy every video you make and am always inspired. Thank you for sharing.
One question… do you spray a. final Fixative on the finished piece? Will it smear if you don’t?

      Kathryn,

Thank you and thanks for watching! I spray two or three coat of a fixative and then I put a semi gloss sealer or matte sealer to finish the piece.
      Have a great day!
