When I started making this project, I had no idea where I would end up with. I only knew that I wanted to use the new Sunflower duo stencil. So I started to build up my background with collage papers, collected some acrylic paints in colors that I wanted to use, and started the journey. I really like sometimes to create, when I don´t have a concrete idea, just drawn by the flow. Sometimes you only have to start and you will be surprised, what ideas suddenly pop up! This is what happened to me here. Building up the background with all the wonderful stencils from Shawn was so enjoyable for me and it´s always kind of magic how suddenly everything changes the look, only by adding some patterns. For me, it´s also a magical moment, when my drawn face comes alive when I put some white into the eyes. Oh, I nearly forgot to say: When I was ready, I sprayed the whole picture with 2 coats of Fixative to make the surface permanent and irresistible! Well, I am pretty happy with the result of my playing and I hope you like it too!

As it is my last post here, I want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the creative journey I was allowed to go with you, dearest Shawn and this amazing Creative Team – and of course with all of you! I enjoyed this past year so very much, I am grateful, that I could share my art here with you and I hope, some of you feel inspired! So take care everyone, enjoy your life, although times are difficult at the moment – maybe you can find back to some basics and your love for the little things in life. All the very best to all of you!

Enjoy the Video!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
