When I began to paint, I wasn’t sure what my end result was going to be. I went for it. I chose 3-4 colors (acrylics yellow, yellow-green, green, and a pop of color, purple), I also brought in white, water-soluble charcoal, and crayons.
I began with the process of using the stencils to show pain (scribbles stencil). To create distress, I usually show my emotions and put them on canvas/board. I added layers with found images.
My story begins with pain but wanted to create layers to show we can be lifted through by “letting go” of what we are carrying in our daily lives.
I used the feather stencil to show a lightness of the feeling of letting go off our burdens. I put the feathers in her hair. As the process began to show itself; I felt I needed to lighten the background.
I love to see how my painting emerges from one thought to another.
