This is the largest angel piece I’ve done, but I think I might do them this size from now on….!
I used the large vintage angel wings which were perfect… and really dug into my soft pastels to get some yummy color.
I also worked hard at letting the papers show through… which is hard for me cause I love all the layers!
This last week it seems that tension is high, with the holidays and then add in all the things of 2020 and people are stretched to the limit.
I was at the store getting a few last-minute things for Thanksgiving when a gal came around the corner with her cart at full speed and just about ran into me….
I stopped quickly.. said, “oh gosh! I’m sorry” and she looked at me, and said “me too” very sharply and started to speed away…. and I said “Have a good day” and tried to give my best smile with my eyes since that’s all we’ve got with our masks on.
She stopped and looked at me like I’d spoken a foreign language. And then her shoulders loosened up and in a very kind soft voice, she said you too.
Sometimes that’s all it might take to make someone’s day. Someday’s it might take a bit more,
but kindness can truly soften the hard edges of life…. and that is how the angel of kindness piece came to be.
I share more about it in the video
