Have I ever told you I love paper and collage! LOL…

The process of layering papers and watching it come together is so soothing to me.

I also love creating my own collage papers.

I knew I wanted specific colors and after going through my stash and not finding the right ones… I printed out some wonderful vintage papers and went to town.

The inspiration for today’s piece came as a surprise, when I least expected it the words and the meaning came pouring out.

I’ll tell you all about it in the video.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

Hi Shawn! This is such a beautiful piece and I loved watching you create your collage papers! Thanks so much for sharing! BTW, I tried to log in to the Resource Library like I always do, and I keep getting an error message that it’s not on the server. I was checking to see if anyone else has been having trouble getting in. Thanks so much! Cherie

      Hi Cherie,

Were you able to get into the library? I have double checked and had the girls in the office log in and we didn’t have any problem. Just want to check and make sure your using the updated password for the library.
      Thanks!

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks for checking in with me. I have tried to log in several times using the new password and it comes back with this error message: “Not Acceptable!
An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.”
I had no trouble getting in there early last week, using the same password that was in the email this past Sunday, 12/6. It seems your servers are blocking my request to access your servers. I don’t know, too much techy stuff. LOL
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
