In today’s Sunday inspiration I used a new stenciling technique in this mixed media floral, it was fabulous! Why haven’t I done this before?? (hand to forehead)!
I also used my favorite crackle paint to really give it some yummy texture and interest.
I also used a couple of my favorite collage paks that show up perfectly.
This project was super easy and relaxing! So I hope you give it a try!
My inspiration for today’s project is Easter. I also know that it’s the last day of Passover.
But even if you don’t celebrate Easter or Passover, there is still rich and deep meaning in the title of this piece “A New Day”
How we show up to each day of our lives is a choice. Each and every day is a new beginning. It’s a chance to let go of yesterday and do our best today.
It’s a chance to make a change or help others. And in that- there is hope!
I share more about it in the video. Enjoy!

Tammi,
So glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you trying it!! and then send me pics, or tag me on Instagram! Thanks for sharing the journey with me good!
Hi Shawn, hope this email finds you well. Firstly let me say I am a subscriber and I eagerly look forward to receiving my weekly Sunday Inspiration email from you and watching you create. I have purchased several of your workshops and have found them so inspirational and easy to follow. I had trouble though with the sound track on the most recent Sunday Inspiration video of a different way to use your stencils dated 4 April 2021. Your commentary about how you created the piece was garbled and very hard to understand and it was hard to hear over the background music. However, the audio of your explanation for the inspiration of the piece at the end to the video was clear.
Dawn, I’m so sorry, I will have to take a look at the video. I didn’t realize that there were audio issue. When I edited it it sounded ok. I’ll check. thanks for letting me know!
Hi Shawn, thanks for getting back to me. I first viewed the video on my IPad. When I viewed it at a later time the same day on my computer it was fine. So maybe it’s was my end. Cheers
Shawn that was a great piece. I did actually create it my way. I just wanted to say I was taken back in your Sunday talk after you completed the piece . Whether you realize it or not Passover isn’t a WHAT EVER! I didn’t think that was appropriate .There are many people that celebrate. . I really do like you and I like the way you teach. Perhaps you didn’t realize what you said or you did? I hope you had a nice Holiday.
Thank you
Lynne,
It is never my intention to dismiss anyone’s faith. I have celebrated Passover many times. I acknowledge all faiths and I work very, VERY, hard to be inclusive in all ways. The Christian faith is how I celebrate so I suppose I have more to say about it and how I feel. Thanks for sharing.
I think it must be very discouraging to have people misanderstand you, I think you lost the love somewhere while you heard Shawns talk, I dont believe for one moment that she was dismissing the Passover as unimportant but that she was acknowledging that there are many different faiths and many different ways of being true to your beliefs and I also believe that all faiths would practice kindness. I wish you a happy easter whichever way you celebrate it and even if you don’t. Just keep spreading the love.
Thanks Colleen,
I would never dismiss someone’s faith and work very hard to be inclusive of all different faiths. Thank you for understanding!
