This piece is titled “The wonder in you” and it is quite a wonder how this piece came together.
I had a whole other project planned and then this quote just spoke to me. I could see what I would create, sooo…. I listened to the stirring in me and I’m so glad I did.
I love the simplicity and the push and pull of the modern and the vintage – of course, it has meaning that I gleaned from the quote.
And then I just played, wanted to have happy colors to contrast the grungy. I love how it came together in a spur of a moment.
I can’t wait to share the process and all the goodness in this project.

Loving today’s message. Learning to be content with the NOW and accepting our talents and not looking to others to compare ourselves to is so difficult. I limited my time looking at other artists on Pinterest because I felt, “Oh, I maybe can do that” or “That’s so much better than my work”…and will I ever get there? It defeats creativity and most importantly our feelings of self worth. Your interpretation and video always inspiring. Thanks. BTW, I’m signed up for the “membership”. When does the fun begin?

Hi Shawn,
Beautiful project. Just a quick question: what are you putting your paints onto for mixing? Looks like layered paper…?
I use a clipboard that has dollar store parchment paper on it. It’s a roll of parchment paper that I cut to fit the clip board. I can then just throw it away or most often I save the paper for future collage.
Thanks for being here!
