This piece was a little different for me. I wanted to put into this piece how I feel about the change in seasons.
How letting go is good, change is good, and yet, I know for me, I linger in the in-between. Not sure of the future but anticipate it to be good.
There is a tension in me, the good kind, that challenges me to grow.
I created with a lot of colors that I don’t normally put together. I spent very little time on the background (which is very different for me)
I combined summer hydrangeas, fall mums, and fall leaves (small) to represent the seasons.
I played with high-flow acrylics, India ink, matte acrylics, acrylic inks, and soft pastels.
And I used some fabulous vintage papers.
This piece was a giant experiment, kinda like life, like the change we experience when we step into a new season, or new responsibilities, new relationships, new hurt…… anything new.
We’re making it up as we go and that’s OK…. keep going, keep experimenting.
On the vase of this piece, it says change is good…. it is! Sometimes I have to remind myself of that, but then I think about the seasons we experience each year and how summer, becomes fall, fall rolls into winter, and so on.
All the beauty we get to experience because of change.
I hope you enjoy the video….. YOU are loved!
