Take a breath … with soft and grungy layers 12-25

Happy Sunday and if you celebrate Christmas… Merry Christmas!

I was in my favorite creative zone with this piece.  The layers, the paper, the texture, Yum!

Today was also about taking care of ourselves (of myself). With the busyness of the season it’s easy to get overwhelmed, add in any family issues, illness, or trauma and the holidays can be tricky.

So today I wanted to remind you to just take a deep breath. That’s what I wrote to myself this week in my journal as I felt my anxiety creeping up and feeling the pressure of not getting everything done.

So today, sit in your comfy chair with your favorite beverage and rest. Watch the video if that gives you joy. Go for a walk or anything that can help you pause and feel some peace.

I hope you enjoy the project. YOU are loved!

The original is available HERE.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
